2012 Rich River Rod Run
The 2012 Rich River Rod Run has been a resounding success with 268 Entrants taking part over the three day event. A number of changes had been made to the run format and have proven to be well received by entrants. The weather cleared just in time for our Friday night welcome dinner at the Rich River Golf Club Resort allowing entrants to enjoy a cold drink and a great meal overlooking the magnificent golf course (with a few rods parked in front of the 18t green). Dennis Tucker provided some entertainment for the evening whilst entrants and members socialized.
Saturday morning the few entrants that didn't make it Friday checked in before all entrants lined up along the main driveway of the Golf Club for a cruise to the nearby township of Kyabram. The Moama Police assisted entrants getting onto the main highway making for a smooth run over the bridge and for the twenty minute run to Kyabram. As we entered town the Meof Motorbike Poker Run entrants were lined up to greet rodders who put on a great display in the main street which was closed for the show. Hundreds of locals turned out to check out the cars and traders in Kyabram did a roaring trade. By mid afternoon the rodders headed back to Echuca/Moama for some free time.
The top judged cars assembled on the 18th Green prior to the evening dinner at Rich River Golf Club for a special "Pebble Beach" style display. A huge range of amazing food was on offer for dinner and had rave reviews from many entrants. The dancefloor was cleared before Scotty Baker hit the stage and warmed the crowd up for a big night of Rockabilly music. Scotty was followed by Kieron McDonald before Hank's Jalopy Demons finished the night off in style.
A fairly early start Sunday for those that partied into the early hours but thankfully blue skies welcomed entrants who were served up a great breakfast at the Moama Sports Club adjacent to the Moama Recreation Reserve where our monster show and shine took place. Along with the 268 entrants another 150+ cars and bikes entered the Sunday Show and Shine making for a great display for more than 2000 spectators that attended. The bands from Saturday night backed up for three sets at the show and there were some great activities for kids along with plenty of trade stands selling their wares.
The Rich River Rod and Custom Club would like to thank everyone for attending and in particular our Major Sponsors, the Rich River Golf Club Resort along with the Murray and Campaspe Shires for their support.

See you again in 2014!
